Each year the Food In Film Festival chooses an organization to collaborate with and donate part of our proceeds to. This year we are proud to be working with Mano Amiga, through their micro-loans program we will be sponsoring an aspiring chef/restaurant owner.

Mano Amiga was founded in 2018 to empower women in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico to pull themselves and their families out of poverty through micro-lending. We provide micro-loans, together with financial training and mentoring, to women who are highly motivated but lack access to affordable credit, thereby giving them the means to build successful small businesses. Mano Amiga's micro-loans typically range from $5,000 - $15,000 pesos. When each micro-entrepreneur pays back her loan, we grant a new loan with those funds to another deserving woman. We are currently seeking mentors and donors to support our next round of micro-entrepreneurs.
